Protests erupted in Nepal last week after Sandeep Lamichchane was included in the training camp. They demanded boycott of the tri series. It is noteworthy that both the teams coming to play the triangular series have also released statements referring to this matter. Cricket Scotland said on Friday it was aware of Sandeep Lamichane’s legal proceedings. Cricket Scotland, as a governing body and as a team, has said it will stand against all forms of abuse.
Court orders must be obeyed.
Even if Sandeep Lamichchane is selected in the team, if the Nepalese team tours outside the country, Lamichchane is likely to go on the tour only after court approval. Nepal Cricket Association General Manager Britant Khanal had previously lifted the ban on Sandeep Lamichhane, saying he would have to strictly follow all the guidelines and timelines given by the court.
Sandeep was in custody for a long time after these allegations. After trial, the court awarded him US $ 15,300 which is about Rs. Bail was granted with a bond of 12.53 lakhs.
