Ashwin said on his YouTube channel, ‘Pakistan is almost certain to host the Asia Cup. But BCCI said, ‘If the Asia Cup is held in Pakistan, we will not participate. He said that if they want to organize it, they will have to change the venue. The comments of both the countries and former players are also increasing the tension on this matter.

Speaking on the same issue, Ashwin said, ‘I think Pakistan should not host the Asia Cup. It would be better to move to Sri Lanka. It is an important tournament before the 50-over ODI World Cup. Anyway, many tournaments are held in Dubai. In such a situation, if it shifts to Sri Lanka, I will be very happy’ he said.

Will Asia Cup be moved to UAE?

It is known that ACC has decided to host Asia Cup 2023 to Pakistan. But in October last year BCCI Secretary Jai Shah made it clear that the Indian team will not go to Pakistan. After that, a controversy broke out over the hosting of Asia Cup 2023. Even in the recent Asian Cricket Council meeting held in Bahrain, no specific decision was taken on this. The matter is likely to be clarified next month. It is expected that the Asia Cup will be held in the UAE after the BCCI stand.
