IPL 2023 season is still two months away. Most of the star batsmen who will be playing in this league are currently playing in South Africa’s T20 tournament. Former South African captain Faf Duplessis is one of them. He has been causing a stir with successive stormy innings in the tournament.
Duplessis, who is the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL, plays for Joburg Super Kings in the South African league. Continuing his excellent form, he gave warnings to other IPL teams. Duplessis hit 7 fours and 4 sixes in the match against Sunrisers Eastern Cape on Sunday 5th February. He narrowly missed the second century. Duplessis scored 92 runs off 61 balls in this match. Also, Duplessis played a brilliant innings with 113 runs against Durban Super Giants in the previous match. It is remarkable that this is the only century registered in this tournament so far.
However, except for Duplessis, the rest of the batsmen failed in the match against Sunrisers. Duplessis put on a 119-run first-wicket partnership with his opening partner Hendricks (40). As a result, the team could score only 160 runs in the allotted overs. But Sunrisers failed to score. 136 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Joburg Kings won by 24 runs.
