Cancer. Many people shudder when they hear the name of this disease that is spreading like water under the carpet. Known as the silent killer, crores of people die every year due to this epidemic. Even though the world is developing very fast in terms of technology, it is more regrettable that the right medicine for cancer is still not found. Cancer Day is celebrated on 4th February every year as part of this program to create awareness about cancer. But many have proved that this drugless epidemic can be overcome with courage. Team India’s famous cricketer Yuvraj Singh is also present in it. Yuvi played a key role in team India winning T20 World Cup in 2007 and ODI World Cup in 2011. But when it came to know that he was affected by cancer, the entire cricketing world was shocked. India won the ODI World Cup at home in 2011. Although the entire credit of this victory goes to Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s captaincy account, the real hero is Yuvaraj. In this tournament, he exploded with the bat and the ball and became the man of the tournament. But then he got cancer.

Vomiting blood in live match..

India won the World Cup by defeating Sri Lanka on April 2. Seven months later, in November 2011, Yuvraj was diagnosed with a tumor in his lung and three months later, the tumor was found to be cancerous. Everyone was shocked when they heard this news. How can a player who leads such a healthy lifestyle get cancer? After this, Yuvraj said that before the start of the World Cup, he vomited blood. In January 2011, he revealed shocking news that he had vomited blood during India’s tour of South Africa. However, Yuvi, who played in the World Cup, also vomited blood in the match against the West Indies in Chennai on March 20. But it is noteworthy that in this match, Yuvraj scored a century and became the man of the match.

Like a ball hit the wall..

Cancer crippled Yuvraj physically and mentally. But Yuvi fought with courage. He went to America in early 2012 and stayed there for three months and underwent chemotherapy. Yuvraj went through three stages in this surgery. Yuvraj faced a lot of pain during treatment. It was during this time that he became very weak. But the spirit of serving Team India for a few more days defeated cancer strongly. He entered the Indian team again like a ball hit the wall. He came to India in April 2012 and re-entered Team India in a very short time. But Yuvi, who had already faced many physical ups and downs due to cancer, could not continue his career for a long time.
