Team India: The first Test match will be played in Nagpur from February 9. Before that, Team India players started practicing here.

Team India has played white ball cricket in ODIs and T20s for a month.. Now it is ready for the red ball game. For the next five weeks, the Indian team is going to be busy with Test cricket. Now Australia is the world’s number one ranked team ahead of Team India. As the Test series is going to start from February 9, for this, Team India needs to prepare in this format. The Indian team started practice in Nagpur from Friday 3rd February. Sweating in a net session.

The first Test match of the series will be played at the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) Stadium in Nagpur. Before that, Team India was organized for a five-day practice camp at the Old Civil Lines ground in the city. Batsmen like captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and bowlers like Mohammad Siraj practiced hard.

All eyes on Jadeja..

According to a report by news agency PTI, the Indian players practiced in two separate sessions during the day. At this time most of the attention was on Ravindra Jadeja. The star all-rounder, who is making a comeback after five months out with a knee injury, spent a lot of time at the nets batting as well as bowling. Jadeja along with several other players practiced bowling and batting for a good amount of time in the first session.

Jadeja recently returned to competitive cricket in a Ranji Trophy match against Tamil Nadu. He took seven wickets in that match.

Two sessions, two nets..

Except for Cheteshwar Pujara, Jaydev Unadkat and Umesh Yadav, most of the players came to this series after playing limited overs matches. In such a situation, the team management led by coach Rahul Dravid wants every player to get enough practice before the Test match at the VCA Stadium. That’s why they practiced in two sessions from the first day, in which the first batch practiced for two and a half hours in the morning and the second batch practiced in the afternoon.

Normally, during any international series or tournament.. Team India practices with 3 nets. But currently, it is settled with just two nets. Apart from leading bowlers, throw-down specialist batsmen were tested. KL Rahul and Shubman Gill, the main bowlers of the team, practiced throwdowns in the nets.
