Joginder kept Dhoni’s faith in him. Misbah bowled brilliantly and took the wicket. Thus, he played a key role in winning the first T20 World Cup for Team India. After that, for some reason, this medium pacer, who was not seen much on the field, established himself as a DSP.
Joginder Sharma.. This medium pacer who became an overnight hero with a single over is well remembered by cricket fans. His dismissal of Pakistan’s star batsman Misbah-ul-Haq in the final of the 2007 World Cup will go down in history. Dhoni’s team won the first T20 World Cup by beating Pakistan by 5 runs in this nerve-wracking match. In the last over, Pakistan needed 13 runs to win.. Misbah-ul-Haq was rooted in the crease. Captain Dhoni gave the ball to Joginder Sharma instead of many experienced bowlers like Irfan Pathan, RPI Singh, Harbhajan Singh. Still, Joginder has no experience in international matches. In addition to this, the World Cup final. It is also a cousin country. Everyone was surprised by Dhoni’s decision. But Joginder kept Dhoni’s faith in him. I can’t forget those sweet moments..
Announcing retirement from international cricket as well as all formats. My cricket journey from 2002 to 2017 has been a wonderful year. It is my greatest honor to represent the Indian team. Thanks to BCC for providing this opportunity. I was fortunate to be a member of the team that won the first T20 World Cup in 2007. In the final, I will never forget Dhoni trusting me and putting the ball in my hands. Bowling under pressure and winning Team India. Do you want to continue your career in your favorite cricket after retirement? Looking forward to a new chapter in my life,’ said Joginder in his retirement message.
