Richard Hadley is known as one of the greatest fast bowlers in the world. He became the first bowler to take 400 wickets in Test cricket. He handles the new ball for New Zealand. But, he retired from international cricket. But since then, New Zealand needed a strike bowler. Danny Morrison made his debut in this sequence. Currently Morrison is impressing with excellent commentary. But, he proved to be a great bowler for his country. Morrison was born on this day, February 3, 1966 in Auckland.

This bowler came into limelight with his brilliant outswinger. After Hadley, this player took over the New Zealand fast bowling attack very well. Later he proved to be the best fast bowler in ODIs. Morrison was a troublemaker with slow balls that would trouble most batsmen.

Hat trick against India..

Morrison has achieved what every bowler dreams of in his career. Only very few people can do this. He has the honor of scoring a hat-trick in ODIs. He also did this against India. He achieved this hat-trick on 25 March 1994 in an ODI match at Napier. He dismissed a player like Kapil Dev in his hat-trick. Kapil Dev, Salil Ankola and Nayan Mongia were added to the pavilion respectively and completed the hat-trick. This made him the first bowler from his country to score a hat-trick in ODIs. A total of 6 hat-tricks were achieved in ODIs before him.

New Zealand beat India by 28 runs in this match. Batting first, New Zealand scored 240 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 50 overs. Before this score, Team India could only manage 212 runs after losing 9 wickets in 50 overs. In this match, Morrison scored 35 runs in nine overs and took three wickets.

As for international career, Morrison played 48 Test matches for his country. He took 160 wickets in these matches. When it comes to ODI career, he played 96 matches for New Zealand and took 126 wickets. He played the last Test match of his career against England in 1997. After that he got out of the team and retired. That means his career ended just three years after scoring a hat-trick. He is currently performing as a commentator.
