According to a report, arrangements are almost complete to host the first auction of the Women’s Premier League on February 13 at the Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai. Jio World Convention Center is located in the Bandra-Kurla Complex.
According to a Cricbuzz report, BCCI has considered some major issues before deciding the date and venue. One of them seems to be lack of space due to the current wedding season. A BCCI official confirmed that board managers are considering the option of holding the auction at the centre. Meanwhile, a source in the IPL said that the convention center will be the venue for the auction.
Auction on February 13?
It appears that the date was chosen as February 13 following requests from some IPL franchises, including teams participating in the International T20 League (ILT20). The BCCI accepted their request to hold the auction after the final of the International T20 League on February 12. However, there is no official confirmation from BCCI or IPL regarding all these matters so far.
