However, he used to play cricket for England. International career cricket started with longer format. However, he could not play more than one match. After that, he got a chance in ODI cricket. The game ended with two matches.
At the age of 33, Joe Benjamin made his Test debut against South Africa at the Oval. After a good performance in county cricket, he got this opportunity. He scored 42 runs and took 4 wickets in the first innings of his debut Test. He became the most successful bowler in England in this innings. But Benjamin could not open his account in batting. After that, no wicket fell in the second innings. But, the foundation laid by him in the first innings was the beginning of England’s victory.
