Batting first, Pakistan were bowled out for 238 runs in the first innings. Anil Kumble took 6 wickets for India. In response to this, India managed to score 254 runs in the first innings. Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid scored half-centuries for India. Sachin Tendulkar could not open the account in the first innings. Among the Pakistani bowlers, Saqlin Mushtaq took 5 wickets. While Pakistan scored 286 runs in the second innings, India set a target of 271 runs. Shahid Afridi was the top scorer with 141 runs. This time Venkatesh Prasad bowled brilliantly and took 6 wickets.
