Womens Premier League: It is known that media rights and teams for Womens Premier League 2023 have already been auctioned.
BCCI has intensified its efforts for the women’s IPL (Women’s Premier League) to start this year. The work related to this has started from the first day of the year. While the media rights were auctioned earlier this month, the league also announced the participating teams a few days ago. Now the stage is set for the auction of Women’s Premier League players. This is the first auction in India for women players.
The demand for women’s IPL has increased tremendously in the country over the last few years. BCCI president Sourav Ganguly announced last year that women’s IPL will start from 2023. Now the teams are decided. Let’s see which superstar will appear in which team’s jersey.
Auction in February
BCCI is yet to officially announce the date for the Women’s Premier League player auction. There are reports that the board will hold an auction on February 10 or 11 in the national capital, Delhi. Along with Indian star players, many foreign players will also be in the auction. Their fate will be decided in this auction.
Five franchises in the competition
Five franchises will participate in the auction. The cities and teams of the franchises were finalized in the team auction held two days ago. After the auction, BCCI Secretary Jai Shah tweeted that the five teams will get Rs. He announced that 4669.99 crore bids have been filed. Adani Sports Line Pvt Ltd Ahmedabad team Rs. 1289 crore bid. This made the team the most expensive team in the league. Reliance’s own company India Win Sports Private Limited has spent Rs.912.99 crores for the Mumbai team.
Bengaluru Royal Challengers Sports Pvt Ltd of the men’s IPL has launched the Bengaluru team in the women’s premier league for Rs. 901 crores was purchased. JSW GMR Cricket Pvt Ltd Delhi team for Rs. 810 crore, while Capri Global Holdings acquired the Lucknow women’s team. It has spent Rs. 757 crores for this.
