
Indian girls entered the final of the Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup. The Indian team, which defeated New Zealand by 8 wickets, will face England and New Zealand, who won here. The second semi-final between these two teams will be held at the same ground at 5:15 pm.
India won the toss and elected to bowl in the first semi-final at Potchestrum on Friday. Batting first, New Zealand scored 107 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. Nitasha scored 3 runs and returned not out. Earlier, Georgia Plimmer was out for 35 and Isabella George was out for 26 runs. Parshvi Chopra took 3 wickets for India. The Indian team chased down the target of 108 runs in 14.2 overs with the loss of two wickets. White played the match winning innings. Along with her, Soumya Tiwari scored 22 and captain Shefali Verma scored 10 runs.
White scored a half century. Shweta Sehrawat (61 runs) also became the top scorer with a half-century in the Indian team. With this innings, White became the top scorer in the tournament. He scored 292 runs including three fifties in his batting. England’s Grace Scrivens finished second with 269 runs. Grace is likely to get past White in the other semi-final.
