Pakistan Fast Bowler: Wahab Riaz is currently busy in Bangladesh Premier League. Due to this he is unable to attend the swearing-in ceremony.

Pakistan’s star bowler Wahab Riaz, who has been wreaking havoc with the ball in the Bangladesh Premier League, received good news midway through the tournament. He became the sports minister for the caretaker government of Punjab province in Pakistan. However, as he is currently busy with the Bangladesh League, he will participate in the swearing-in ceremony after returning from there. The left-arm bowler has taken 237 wickets in 156 matches across 3 formats for Pakistan. He was a member of Pakistan’s Champions Trophy winning team in 2017.

But in 2019, Riaz took an indefinite break from red ball cricket. After taking a break, he said that he wants to fully focus on limited overs cricket. But for the last 2 years, he could not even play limited overs cricket for Pakistan.

Wahab Riaz could not get a chance to play for Pakistan from 2020. But, he is doing wonders in Bangladesh league. He took 9 wickets in last 10 days in Bangladesh league. Earlier he achieved the feat of taking 400 wickets in T20. He became the first player from Pakistan to achieve this milestone. Not only this, he became the sixth bowler in the world after Dwayne Bravo, Rashid Khan, Sunil Narine, Imran Tahir and Shakib Al Hasan.

Wahab retired from Test cricket in 2019. At the same time, from 2020 onwards, he did not even get a chance to play ODIs and T20 Internationals. Wahab played 27 Tests, 91 ODIs and 36 T20Is for Pakistan. During this time he took 83 wickets in Tests, 120 wickets in ODIs and 34 wickets in T20 Internationals.
