Team India’s new sensation Shubman Gill, who is rushing with consecutive centuries in the ODI format, has made a splash in the ODI rankings as well. Gill, who impressed with two centuries in the three-match series against New Zealand, has moved up 20 places to sixth place in the latest ICC ODI rankings. In the same series, Virat Kohli, who did not run much, is at the 7th position, while captain Rohit Sharma is at the 9th place. He scored 360 runs (209, 40 not out, 112) in the three match series against New Zealand. Earlier, he scored 207 runs (70, 21, 116) in 3 matches in Sri Lanka. While Pakistan captain Babar Azam continues to be at the top in this category, Dussen and De Kock are at the second and third positions. Aussie star batsman David Warner is at number four, while Pakistan player Imam-ul-Haq continues at number five.
Meanwhile, Hyderabadi pacer Mohammad Siraj, who excelled in the New Zealand series (5 wickets in 2 matches) and in the earlier ODI series against Sri Lanka (9 wickets in 3 matches), became the world’s number one bowler in the ODI rankings for the first time. It is noteworthy that only Siraj is among the top ten ODI bowlers for India. Aussie star pacer Josh Hazlewood is in second place, Kiwi’s Trent Boult is in third place, Mitchell Starc is in fourth place and Rashid Khan is in fifth place.
