According to the court order, cricketer Mohammad Shami has to pay monthly maintenance of Rs. 1 lakh 30 thousand to his wife Hasin Jahan. Out of which, Rs. 50,000 has been given as personal maintenance to Hasin Jahan, and Rs. 80,000 has been ordered to be spent on the maintenance of her daughter who is staying with her.
The five-year long legal battle between Team India fast bowler Mohammad Shami and his wife Hasin Jahan has come to an end. In this case, Alipur district court ruled in favor of Shami’s wife Hasin Jahan. According to the court order, cricketer Mohammad Shami has to pay monthly maintenance of Rs. 1 lakh 30 thousand to his wife Hasin Jahan. Out of which, Rs. 50,000 has been given as personal maintenance to Hasin Jahan, and Rs. 80,000 has been ordered to be spent on the maintenance of her daughter who is staying with her. Going into details, on August 16, 2018, Mohammad Shami’s wife Hasin Jahan’s wife approached the court alleging that he was harassing her. A case has been registered against Shami on charges of assault, rape, attempted murder, domestic violence etc. Meanwhile, Hasin Jahan has alleged in the complaint that she is not providing any financial support for her daughter’s expenses. She demanded Rs.10 lakh per month for the maintenance of her daughter. Now the court has ruled on this issue.. Hasin Jahan’s demand has been rejected. Shami was ordered to pay alimony every month considering his annual income. To this extent, Additional District Judge Anindita Ganguly issued the verdict.
Mohammad Shami and Hasin Jahan, who got married in 2014, have a daughter. But as it were, conflicts arose between the couple. In 2018, Hasin made several serious allegations against Shami like domestic violence, assault, dowry harassment and cricket fixing. However, Mohammed Shami denied all the allegations made by his wife. After that the two separated. But the divorce was not taken. Shami got a clean chit in the BCCI inquiry regarding fixing.
