Federation president and BJP MP Brij Bhushan went on a lightning dharna at Jantar Mantar alleging that Sharan Singh was harassing them physically and mentally. On this occasion, star wrestler Vinesh Phogat made sensational allegations against Brij Bhushan Saran Singh and coaches. She said that they were sexually harassing women wrestlers and she once wanted to commit suicide because of him. Brij Bhushan and national coaches sexually harassed women wrestlers. They scolded me badly for being useless. I suffered a lot of emotional distress due to Brij Bhushan’s harassment. I even wanted to commit suicide once. Vinesh burst into tears in front of the media. Along with Vinesh Phogat, 30 star wrestlers including Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik, Sangeeta Phogat, Sumit Malik and Sarita More participated in this protest. The protestors have made it clear that they will continue their dharna until Brij Bhushan is removed from the post of president and until then they will not participate in any international competition. Meanwhile, Indian wrestlers are supposed to participate in the prestigious Asian Games this year. Training camps have also been started for this purpose. Meanwhile, all the wrestlers are getting agitated and it is becoming a hot topic of discussion.
Meanwhile, Wrestling Federation of India President Brijbhushan Saran Singh responded to the concerns of the wrestlers. He asked whether the new rules and regulations have come to the Razors who have not had any problems with the Federation for the last ten years. He said that he suspects that a big industrialist is behind the women wrestlers making sexual accusations against him. He clarified that he will not resign from the post and the police is ready for investigation. He questioned why Vinesh Phogat did not approach the police when his life was in danger. Meanwhile, since 2011, Brij Bhushan continues to be the President of the Wrestling Federation. In 2019, he was unanimously elected for the third time in a row. Bhushan, who is continuing in the BJP party, is representing the Lok Sabha seat of Kaisarganj in Uttar Pradesh.
