In the ongoing ICC Women’s Under-19 World Cup in South Africa on Monday, a bowler from the host country took the first hat-trick in this tournament. South Africa’s Maddison Landsman set this record against Scotland in a match at Willowmore Park in Benoni. Played a vital role in the Scotland team’s all-out with her hat-trick. South Africa won by 45 runs.
The South African team batted first in this match. But the team could not score much. As a result, the team scored 112 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Scotland team collapsed for 68 runs in 17 overs.
Amazing performance in 15th over..
Maddison achieved this hat-trick in the 15th over. Maryam Faisal was dismissed in the second ball of this over. She managed only six runs. Then the pavilion gave way to Nimah Muir on the third ball. Orla dismissed Montgomery on the next ball to complete the hat-trick. For the first time, ICC is organizing the Under-19 World Cup in women’s category. In such conditions, Maddison became the first hat-trick bowler in the history of this tournament.
She bowled four overs and gave away 16 runs and took a total of four wickets. After the hat-trick she guided the pavilion off the last ball of the 17th over to end Scotland’s innings.
