IND vs NZ 3rd T20I: Pant vs NZ in final T20I.. Team India’s star opener to make debut?

It seems that Rishabh Pant will be targeted in the third match against New Zealand. This opening batsman will make his T20 debut in his place.

Team India is in excellent form on the tour of New Zealand. The first match was canceled due to rain, and in the second match, Team India won by 65 runs. Rishabh Pant got a place in the playing eleven in this match. Pant entered the ring along with Ishan Kishan in the opening. But, he did nothing special and reached the pavilion with just 6 runs off 13 balls at a strike rate of 46.15. With this, it seems that there is a possibility that another player will enter the ring in Pant’s place in the third and last T20I.

A chance for this opener..

It seems that Shubman Gill may be included in the team in place of Rishabh Pant in the next match. Through this next match, Gill is likely to make his T20 international debut as well. Till now Gill has played Test cricket and ODI matches for India. Gill has opened for the Indian team on several occasions. He is seen playing as an opener in ODI cricket.

Gill can now try to show his potential in T20 Internationals as well. Playing ODI cricket, Gill scored 579 runs in 12 matches at an average of 57.90. He also scored a century and three fifties. Meanwhile in IPL 2022, he scored 483 runs in 16 matches at an average of 34.50 with a strike rate of 132.33. In terms of T20, these statistics are good. In such a situation Gill’s T20 international debut seems possible.

Pant’s T20 career is not so good..

Rishabh Pant, who has looked amazing in Test cricket, has not impressed so far in T20 Internationals. Pant scored only 42 runs in his last four T20I innings. This includes 27 against Africa, 3 against Zimbabwe, 6 against England and 6 against New Zealand. Pant has played a total of 65 T20 internationals so far. In that he scored 976 runs at an average of 22.69 and a strike rate of 125.77.
