Tamil Nadu Cricket Team Vijay Hazare Trophy
There was a storm of runs in the Vijay Hazare Trophy on Monday. Tamil Nadu scored 506 runs against Arunachal Pradesh at Chinnaswamy Stadium. This is the best performance by any team in List A cricket. This is the first time a team has crossed the 500 mark in List A cricket. Tamil Nadu’s 506 against Arunachal broke the record set by England’s 498 against the Netherlands earlier this year.
Before England, Surrey scored 496 against Gloucestershire in 2007. But now Tamil Nadu has created this record by defeating all these teams.

Jagadeesan put on a partnership of 416 runs with Sai Sudarshan. It was the first time in List A cricket that a pair had shared a partnership of over 400 runs. Sai Sudarshan also played an innings of 154 runs. Both batsmen hit 17 sixes and 44 fours together. Interestingly, this pair had only one four in Tamil Nadu’s innings after the break.
