Football legend Diego Maradona’s goal ball was sold at an auction for 2.4 million dollars i.e. 19 crore 50 lakh rupees in Indian currency. Ali bin Nasser, who acted as referee in that match, bought the remaining ball as a witness to that goal, which became famous as ‘Hand of God’. How famous is Diego Maradona’s ‘Hand of God’ goal against England in the 1986 World Cup quarter-finals? The ball hit by Maradona was sold in a recent auction. None of the match officials recognized the goal scored by Argentine star Maradona in the quarters. Ali bin Nasser, who acted as the referee for that match, had the ball all this time. It was auctioned in London. Maradona scored another goal and Argentina won in the quarters. She continued the same momentum and won the World Cup. Maradona died in 2020 at the age of 60.
