New Zealand captain Kane Williamson won the toss and elected to bat, setting Pakistan a target of 153 runs. After a flurry of starts, Williamson played an innings of 46 runs. He put on a 68-run partnership with Darryl Mitchell. Mitchell then scored 53 runs to take the team to a fighting score.
Among the Pakistani bowlers, Shaheen Shah Afridi took 2 wickets. He gave only 24 runs in 4 overs. Nawaz got a wicket on Shadab’s direct hit.
