Team India started their first match in the T20 World Cup with a victory over their long-time rivals Pakistan, but in the third match, they suffered a defeat against South Africa. The Rohit Sharma-led Indian team suffered their first defeat in the T20 World Cup on Sunday. In a low scoring match, the rival Safari team won against Team India by 5 wickets. South Africa successfully chased down the target of 134 runs against India in Perth. David Miller completed his half-century with 59 runs off 46 balls and remained unbeaten. Miller also played a key role as the South African team won the match. Mark Ram also scored 52 off 41 balls. With this the Safari team won. As far as Indian batting is concerned, it must be said that Surya Kumar Yadav fought alone. Surya Kumar Yadav scored 68 runs off 40 balls as India scored 133 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Team India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bat first. However, with the victory of the Safari team in the India-South Africa match, there were slight changes in the points table. Team India, who topped Group B, dropped to second place. With the win over India, South Africa became the first with 5 points. The first match against Zimbabwe was called off due to rain and the teams of South Africa and Zimbabwe got one point each. After that, South Africa won two matches in a row and reached the first position in Group B with 5 points.

On the other hand, India is in the second position with four points after winning two of the three matches played. There are Bangladesh also has four points at par with India but Bangladesh is third due to run rate. Zimbabwe is fourth with three points while Pakistan is fifth with two points. From Group B, South Africa and Team India seem to have more chances to reach the semis. If no miracles happen, the chances of semis are good for these two teams.
