ICC: The ICC has made a key announcement that players infected with Corona no longer need to be isolated. With this, it is believed that the ICC has given a huge concession to the T20 World Cup 2022.
The T20 World Cup campaign has started in Australia. A lot of changes are seen in this tournament. One of the biggest changes made by the International Cricket Council is the change related to the Corona infection that will also be seen in Australia. Earlier, if any of the players got Corona, from then on the player had to be isolated for a certain number of days. However, recently ICC has made a key change in this. It has been announced that players infected with Corona will also be allowed to play in the World Cup.
ICC has allowed the players to play during the 2022 Commonwealth Games final despite Corona. Australian all-rounder Tahlia McGrath has been cleared by the ICC to play despite testing positive for Covid. But she was seen sitting separately with a mask. She then celebrated with her teammates after winning the gold medal. Similar scenarios can be seen in the Men’s World Cup as well.
Also, ICC announced that no covid positive player will be isolated. Also, it has also announced that there will be no mandatory covid testing during the tournament. Players have undergone countless COVID-19 tests since 2020. Hence there is no need to provide samples with the latest announced changes. The COVID-19 situation has improved globally. People have successfully faced the threat of corona by taking vaccines.
Meanwhile, the 8th T20 World Cup is being held in Australia. The opening match of the tournament was played in Geelong today (October 16). The final is scheduled to take place on November 13 at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground.
The two semifinals will be held in Sydney and Adelaide on November 9 and 10 respectively. Team India, led by Rohit Sharma, will begin their campaign against Pakistan on October 23. This match will be played at MCG.
