But now let’s talk about some things you need to know about this competition. From October 16 to November 13, 16 teams will play 45 matches in this tournament. The top two teams from Group A and B will qualify for the Super 12. In this stage two groups of six teams will play in a round-robin. The top two teams qualify for the knockout stage. The winning team of the tournament will be awarded a cash prize of 1.6 million US dollars. The runner-up team will get 8 lakh dollars. The losing semi-finalists will be awarded $4 lakh. T20 World Cup 2022 will be held in seven cities in Australia. In 2007, the young Indian team led by MS Dhoni defeated Pakistan in the last over and achieved a great victory. This year the tournament will be held in three stages. The tournament will be the first round of qualifiers. Out of that four teams i.e. top two teams in two groups will qualify for Super 12.

First Round Group A: Namibia, Netherlands, Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates, Group B: Ireland, Scotland, West Indies, Zimbabwe Super 12 Stage Group A, Top two teams from Group B qualify for Super 12. In this stage, two groups of six teams will play a round-robin. The top two teams qualify for the knockout stage. The knockout stage will feature two semi-finals, with the final on November 13. Group 1 consists of Afghanistan, Australia, England, New Zealand, Group A winner, Group B runner-up, Group 2 includes Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, South Africa, Group B winner, Group A runner-up. Matches will be held at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne Adelaide Oval, Adelaide Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney Gabba, Brisbane Cardinia Park, Geelong Bellerive Oval, Hobart Perth stadiums.

The final tournament will be held on November 13 at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground. Both semi-finals and finals in the knockout stages have reserve days. There are no reserve days for any other matches. India vs Australia – 17th October, India vs New Zealand – 19th October, India vs Pakistan – 23rd October, India vs Runner-up (Group A) – 27th October, India vs South Africa – 30th October, India vs Bangladesh – 2nd November, Adelaide India vs Winner (Group B) – will be held on 6 November. Live television across continents with major broadcasters including Star Network, Sky Sports, Fox Sports, ESPN, PTV, Times Internet. Star Network holds television rights in India, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Maldives. Hotstar Disney+ will broadcast the games in India.
