Cricket: Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) president Azharuddin reacted to the stampede at the Secunderabad Gymkhana Ground on Thursday regarding the sale of tickets for the third T20 match between India and Australia. Speaking at a media conference on Friday, he said that the incident at the Gymkhana Ground was sad. They said that they will bear the medical expenses of those injured in the incident and they are taking care of the injured victims. He said that 11,450 tickets were sold online. He said that the contract to sell match tickets online has been handed over to Paytm and they have nothing to do with their mistakes. Azharuddin said that there is no truth in the news that match tickets have been blocked. They clarified that they have not blocked any kind of tickets. Azharuddin also gave clarity on complimentary passes. He said that there are only 3 thousand corporate tickets. He said that the police know what happened at the gymkhana ground during the sale of match tickets.
He said that what happened in the past in the case of ticket sales has happened now. The police should take care of security. Azharuddin said that the HCA was not the cause of the stampede and that it was the police who had to take care of the security there. Police will take action if tickets are sold in block, he said. It has been mentioned that all kinds of measures have been taken from HCA regarding the sale of match tickets.
