Jasprit Bumrah: Pakistan bowler Saeed Ajmal holds the record for most wickets in T20 international matches against Australia.
India vs Australia T20I Series: The T20 series between India and Australia will be held from September 20. For this series, India included fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah in the squad. Earlier, Bumrah did not play in Asia Cup 2022. He missed Team India due to injury. But now that he is fit, he will play against Australia. Bumrah has a good record against Australia. In this series he is all set to break the record of Pakistan’s Saeed Ajmal.
Bumrah created a record as the player who took the most wickets in T20 International matches against Australia on behalf of India. He has taken 15 wickets so far. Saeed Ajmal stands first in this regard. He took 19 wickets. Mohammad Amir is second with 17 wickets. Umar Gul and Ish Sodhi took 16 wickets each. Bumrah is likely to break Ajmal’s record in this series. However, Bumrah needs 5 wickets in this one.
If we look at Bumrah’s T20 career.. he is performing effectively. He has taken 69 wickets in 58 matches played so far. Bumrah’s best performance during this period was 11 runs and 3 wickets. He played 120 matches in IPL and took 145 wickets.
Along with Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Deepak Chahar and Yuzvendra Chahal also got a chance for the T20 series against Australia. Mohammed Shami did not get a place in the Indian team in the T20 World Cup. But, Shami was kept as a stand-by player.
