He secured a place as a finisher and wicket keeper in the Indian team in the prestigious World Cup to be held in Australia soon. Meanwhile, Karthik expressed his joy at the entry into Team India at the age of retirement. On this occasion, he specially thanked the management of the Bangalore franchise that he is representing in the IPL. He shared his happiness on the social media platform saying that he has been given an opportunity to realize a dream of many years.

Meanwhile, Bengaluru specially tweeted congratulating DK’s entry into the Indian team. Karthik responded to this saying, ‘Thank you to the Bangalore team for playing a very important role in my journey and making my dream come true. Especially..thanks to the fans who encouraged me by saying ‘Bangalore..Bangalore’ even though I am playing for Team India,” DK tweeted. Meanwhile, the Short World Cup will be held from October 16 to November 13. BCCI has selected Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik as wicket keepers for this prestigious tournament. India will play their first match against Pakistan on October 23.
