Mumbai Airport: Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), one of the world’s busiest single-runway airports, broke its single-day record. On 17 September 2022, most passengers traveled through this airport. About 1,30,378 people traveled. This is the highest since the Covid pandemic i.e. almost two years. A total of 839 flights operated on September 17. 95,080 passengers traveled through Terminal 2 and 35,294 passengers through Terminal 1.

IndiGo, Vistara and Go First are the most popular domestic routes. As far as international is concerned.. Indigo, Air India and Emirates stood in the top 3 positions. While Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai have the top 3 domestic destinations, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Singapore are the top 3 international routes with the highest air traffic.

Mumbai International Airport said that the increase in traffic. The next day i.e. September 18 (Sunday) was also crowded with passengers. About 1.3 lakh passengers traveled through Mumbai airport. Out of these, more than 98 thousand passengers traveled domestically. More than 32 thousand passengers traveled internationally.

According to rating agency Investment Information and Credit Rating Agency of India Limited (ICRA), domestic traffic increased by 5 percent to 1.02 crore in August 2022. It said that the recovery of the aviation industry has led to the return of flight operations to normalcy.
