Bihar: The CBI officials have asked the court to cancel the bail of Bihar Deputy CM Tejaswi Yadav, who is currently on bail in the IRCTC scam case. On the request of the CBI, the CBI Special Court has issued notices to Tejaswi Yadav. Tejaswi Yadav was directed to respond before September 28 in the notice. The CBI told the court that Bihar Deputy CM Tejaswi Yadav had spoken to threaten the CBI officials in a recent media conference. CBI has investigated the case related to corruption in the maintenance contract of IRCTC hotels. Tejashwi Yadav, his mother and former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi were granted bail in August 2018 in this case. The CBI has registered a charge sheet against 12 persons and two companies in this case. The CBI has alleged irregularities in the maintenance contract of IRCTC hotels in Ranchi and Puri in Odisha.

The CBI’s main allegation is that Tejaswi’s family got a three-acre plot in a prime location in Patna as a bribe for awarding this contract in 2006. The ED has also registered a charge sheet in connection with the same case. The CBI officials requested the court to cancel Tejaswi Yadav’s bail saying that he had made threatening comments to their officers.
