But farmers should remember here that they should apply for crop insurance within 10 days of planting seeds in the field.
What farmers should do in case of crop loss
If your crop suffers heavy damage due to rain or natural calamities, then the first question that arises in your mind is what to do. The insurance company should be informed within 72 hours of crop loss due to natural calamities. The insurance company will look at how much the rain has affected your crop. After evaluation.. estimating the crop loss incurred. After that, the amount of compensation for the loss due to natural calamities is directly deposited in the farmers’ account.

To take advantage of this scheme, the farmer must first prepare his ration card. Along with this, the breadwinner should have an account in any bank. That bank account should be linked with Aadhaar number. Also Farmer’s Valid Identity Card, Farmer’s Passport Size Photo, Farm Khasra Number (Survey Number), Farmer’s Residential Certificate (Driving Licence, Passport, Voter ID Card etc. can be used for this), if farmers have leased the farm for crop.. Documents.. i.e. photo copy of the contract documents with the farm owner etc.
