Hyderabad Libration Day: Former Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu has called to celebrate Telangana Liberation Day on September 17, when Telangana was freed from the rule of Rajakars. On the occasion of Telangana Liberation Day, he paid tribute to the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in front of the Assembly in Hyderabad. Speaking on this occasion, Venkaiah Naidu said that even though the country got independence on August 15, 1947, Hyderabad remained in the hands of the Nizam. Venkaiah Naidu reminded that the region got independence due to the police action of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He said that everyone should celebrate Telangana Liberation Day without getting into controversies. Ironman Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is credited with playing an important role in the integration of over 500 princely states into the Indian Union after independence.

Everyone needs to pay tribute to a great man like Sarthar Vallabhbhai Patel. Union Culture and Tourism Minister Kishan Reddy, Rajya Sabha MP Dr K Laxman along with senior BJP leaders participated in this programme. It is known that September 17 is celebrated as Telangana Liberation Day by BJP, TRS as Telangana National Integration Day and Congress as Telangana Independence Day.
