Modi’s approach is published without taking into account the many achievements of the central government. Earlier, Balakrishnan inaugurated an exhibition on “Life and Times of Dr BR Ambedkar” at the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library here.
Speaking at the launch of the book, former President Kovind said that this book is a compilation of the multi-dimensional ideologies of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and their efforts for the country. Kovind described the book as providing theoretical foundation and solid information on important topics like industrial development, labor rights, self-reliance, electricity, water resource development, planned urban development, education, gender equality.
Kovind recalled that Babasaheb, as the Chairman of the Drafting Committee of the Constituent Assembly, had rejected the proposal to grant special status to Jammu and Kashmir. Later after complicated events, special status was granted to Jammu and Kashmir. He said that this is the opposite of what Babasaheb had dreamed of. However, due to the efforts of the Modi government, the special status of Jammu and Kashmir was revoked in August 2019, Kovind said that this inequality has been removed. He said that this order will fulfill Babasaheb’s wishes. Kovind said that he was lucky to get the opportunity to sign this order in his capacity as the President of India.
Kovind said that during the freedom struggle, when the country was in a quagmire of communalism, there were instructions from many leaders not to see people in terms of religion. But, Babasaheb’s thinking is at a very high level.. He reminded us that we are Indians first. Kovind stated that Indianness is the true identity and religion, caste and community have no place. Also, Narendra Modi will talk about India first. Supporting the vision of Babasaheb Modi, the former President stated that he is following his path. Kovind believes that this book is proof that Prime Minister Modi is a true disciple of Baba Ambedkar.
Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that many people have done the work of collecting votes and making idols in the name of Dr. Ambedkar. But he praised his vision for the upliftment of the downtrodden, if anyone is implementing it step by step, it is Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
