Locals say that they have been hearing strange noises from underground since September 6. Officials want to take quick action.

Maharashtra: Strange sounds are coming from underground in Hasori village in Latur district of Maharashtra. Officials have also confirmed this. The district authorities have invited experts from the Indian Institute of Geomagnetism to study the matter. Hasori village in Nilanga taluka is 28 km away from Killari village. Killary was hit by a deadly earthquake in 1993, killing 9,700 people. Officials said that no earthquake indicators were recorded in the surrounding areas of Hasori. Villagers say they have been hearing strange noises from the ground since September 6. Latur District Collector Prithviraj visited the village on Tuesday and appealed to the people not to panic. A team of experts from Swami Ramanand Tirtha Marathwada University in Nanded will visit the village on Wednesday, officials said.
