An atmosphere of high tension prevailed in Bengal. BJP called for protests against Mamata Sarkar. Clashes broke out between BJP and Trinamool workers in East Midnapore where both party workers attacked each other. One person was seriously injured in the clash. The injured person was taken to the hospital. BJP has called for a siege of the Secretariat in Kolkata. Traffic jams were created at many places in Kolkata as BJP workers rushed from all four directions. The opposition leader in the assembly Suvendu Adhikari was taken into custody by the police.
BJP workers alleged that they were not allowed to come towards Kolkata. Later, BJP workers and supporters staged a protest on the roads. The workers-supporters clashed with the police. Supporters of the activists continued to sit in the streets and demonstrate. Protests started by burning tires in the streets.

Suvendu Adhikari criticized that anarchy is reigning in Bengal. The BJP leaders accused the Trinamool government of committing massive corruption. He said that Bengal has become like North Korea.
The police arrested the agitating BJP workers. Kolkata police have imposed Section 144. BJP took out a rally named Nabana March. Due to these protests, a heavy traffic jam was formed near the Howrah Bridge.
