Says Hare should have actually read the bill

EAST MOLINE, IL–Bobby Schilling, Republican candidate for Congress in the IL-17 District, criticized the new healthcare law for having a gap in protection for children with pre-existing medical conditions. According to the spokesperson for the House Energy and Commerce Committee, which was responsible for writing a large part of the recently passed bill, the new law still allows insurance companies to refuse new coverage to children with pre-existing conditions. Schilling said that Rep. Hare owes an explanation and possibly, a retraction of former statements about the bill’s merits.

“This is a shame,” said Schilling. “Again the federal government and our representatives have misled us. They made this bill sound as if it would fix all of our problems. Clearly it does not. Rep. Hare would have known about this new loophole if he had read the bill. He should apologize for misleading the people of his district.”

Schilling, a native of Rock Island. graduated from Alleman High School and attended Black Hawk College. Schilling, a local business owner and father of ten children, is the Republican candidate for the 17th Congressional District in Illinois. Bobby is running on a platform of bring jobs and real representation back to the 17th District. Earlier this year, Schilling conducted a 34-city “Bob’s for Jobs” tour, where he met with voters and employers all across the 17th District.
